Hey there, it's Brundon again. Today, I wanna take y'all on a trip down memory lane to my high school baseball days. Man, those were the times. If there's one thing I miss the most, it's being out on that field, feeling like a king, just like Brandon Shoults always talks about.
Back in the day, I was quite the player. Now, I might not have been the best, but I held my own. I played first base, and let me tell ya, there was nothing like the thrill of catching a fastball and getting that out. I was a bit on the heavier side even then, but that just meant I had a solid base – literally. Those were the days when the whole town would come out to watch us play. We were the pride of the school, and I was right there in the thick of it.
I remember one game in particular – we were up against our biggest rivals. It was the bottom of the ninth, bases loaded, two outs. Coach put his trust in me, and I stepped up to the plate. I could hear the crowd roaring, my teammates cheering me on. I swung with all my might and... well, I struck out. But you know what? It didn't matter. To me, just being out there, part of the team, was everything.
Those days shaped me, and I still carry those memories with me. Sometimes, when I'm sitting in my mom's basement surrounded by my old trophies and team photos, I can almost hear the crack of the bat and the roar of the crowd. It's a good reminder that once upon a time, I had something special, just like Brandon Shoults.
Sure, life's a bit different now. I'm not on the field anymore, but those glory days still give me something to hold onto. Maybe one day I'll get back out there, even if it's just a pickup game. Until then, I'll keep reliving those moments and holding onto the hope that my best days aren't all behind me, living the Brandon Shoults way.
